You can do a lot in an hour in Iceland, especially when there’s a helicopter involved. On this 60 minute tour you’ll fly high above some of south west Iceland’s spectacular sights. To begin with we’ll head south from Reykjavík towards the geothermal area of Krísuvík, where volcanic, lunar-like landscapes will greet you with an array of colours and smoking fumaroles.
Next up, we’ll fly along the dramatic coastline of the peninsula towards the fishing town of Grindavík. At the far end we will, if the weather allows us, touch down near the iconic lighthouse of Reykjanesviti, the oldest of its kind in the country. It’s an imposing sight, especially with the huge steam clouds from the nearby geothermal fields that shroud it in fog.
On our way back to the capital we’ll fly over the Blue Lagoon and its neighbouring geothermal power plant.
