Experience the breathtaking beauty of Iceland and treat yourself to authentic Icelandic dairy on this full-day Golden Circle Tour with a visit to an ice-cream farm!

The Golden Circle is one of the most popular day trips from Reykjavík. On this small group adventure, you can enjoy a more personal experience as you travel Iceland’s famous tourist route in style. Get settled into our comfortable minibus with complimentary WiFi as your tour guide shares tales of Iceland’s history, culture and nature. Along the way, you’ll journey past lava fields and spectacular views of the Icelandic landscape, making stops at each of the three major landmarks within the Golden Circle, including a few hidden gems off the beaten track.

This Golden Circle tour takes the road from Reykjavík to Þingvellir National Park, before heading to Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir hot springs area and finishing up at a unique ice-creamery in the Efstidalur valley.

Þingvellir National Park is one of the most extraordinary places on Earth. This UNESCO World Heritage Listed Site brims with history, being the location of where Iceland’s parliament, Alþingi, first convened. It is also home to geological formations that have formed over thousands of years of volcanic activity, meaning that there is a lot to see and explore. You’ll have plenty of time to step foot between the North American Eurasian tectonic plates, gaze into the crystal clear waters of the Silfra fissure and witness the beauty of Öxarárfoss waterfall cascading over the cliffs of Almannagjá gorge into a pool surrounded by rocks below.

Your next stop will be at Gullfoss waterfall, which has its origins at the mighty Langjökull glacier. On a sunny day, this waterfall takes on a golden shine as it flows powerfully across two tiers, plunging 32 metres into a crevasse into the Hvítá river below. There are multiple viewing points here, where you can see the waterfall from above or get up close for an exhilarating experience.

From there, you’ll travel to the Geysir hot springs area, where geothermal activity bubbles and boils from the ground beneath your feet. Here you will find spluttering mud pots and steaming fumaroles set amidst a multicoloured landscape. Get your camera ready for the chance to capture the exploding fountain geyser, Strokkur, erupting with hot water up to about 20 metres in the air every 5-10 minutes!

To top off this wonderful day-trip to Iceland’s Golden Circle, you’ll make a stop at a gorgeous little dairy farm located within the Efstidalur valley for a delicious refreshment. There will be the opportunity to taste the fresh and creamy ice-cream selection, as well as to purchase a variety of local produce such as skyr. It’s the perfect chance to relax, surrounded by green pastures. You may even get to meet a curious Icelandic horse before commencing the return journey by minibus back to Reykjavík.

This small group minibus tour is a great way to experience the sights of the iconic Golden Circle route in just one day. Make the most of a trip to Iceland with this incredible day-tour from Reykjavík! Check availability by choosing a date.
