On the morning of your tour, you'll be picked up from Reykjavík by your photo guide. You will then be taken on a day trip to the lunar-like landscapes of the Reykjanes peninsula, where you’ll shoot both volcanic and geothermal wonders. The peninsula is on the fissure zone of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, meaning that it is neither on the North American nor the Eurasian tectonic plate but in a valley between.

Due to the peninsula’s unique position, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions were once common in this area. These these forces of nature have shaped the landscape all around. It is here that the ocean meets harsh volcanic rocks and black sand beaches can be found along with seemingly endless lava fields covered with soft moss.

Birds are abundant on the Reykjanes Peninsula during the summer, as they nest along the jagged cliffs. This provides you with fantastic opportunities to both sharpen your wildlife photography skills and add a variety of different images to your portfolio.

In fair weather, the peninsula is known for great sunsets but during wintertime, it's the perfect hunting place for the elusive Northern Lights.
