Experience the magic of the Faroe Islands on a 3-day summer photography tour! This magnificent archipelago of volcanic islands situated between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean is like something straight out of a fairytale. Steep cliffs line breathtaking shorelines and rugged scenery gives way to quaint, colourful villages. There are an abundance of opportunities to practice landscape and wildlife photography with dynamic weather conditions adding to the already dramatic atmosphere.
Over the course of 3 days, your local photography guide will take you to the best locations for photography on three islands within the archipelago, all exceedingly beautiful in their own right.
On Vágar island, there will be the chance to capture the famous Múlafossur Waterfall, cascading from a cliff straight into the ocean below. You'll also visit the extraordinary Sørvágsvatn, a lake that sits above the ocean atop the dizzying heights of a vertical cliff face.
Nearby on Streymoy Island, you'll visit the remote hillside village of Saksun, surrounded by fjords and waterfalls. Perhaps the highlight is the Fossá waterfall – the tallest waterfall in the Faroe Islands that is easily accessible, giving you the chance to get up close and personal for photography, though you may get a little bit wet!
The final island that we will visit on this photo tour is Eysturoy, where you'll have opportunities to explore the charming village of Gjógv and hike to the Hvíthamar mountain ridge for a panoramic vista of the picturesque Funningsfjørður fjord below.
