Day 1

Day 1 - Arrival & First Dolomites Sunset - October 24, 2026

Upon arrival at Marco Polo Airport in Venice, we begin our scenic drive north into the heart of the Dolomites. The journey takes us through dramatic alpine landscapes, with a short stop in the Cortina area along the way. In the evening, we head up to Passo Giau, one of the most spectacular mountain passes in the Dolomites, perfectly positioned for our first sunset photography session. Rolling meadows, jagged peaks, and constantly changing light make this an unforgettable introduction to the region. After sunset, we continue to our hotel in Cortina d’Ampezzo, where we settle in for the night.

Day 2

Day 2 - Alpine Lakes & Iconic Peaks - October 25, 2026

We start early for sunrise at Lago Federa, a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by rugged peaks and soft reflections.

After returning and enjoying a break, the afternoon is spent exploring the area around Cortina before heading out again for sunset. In the evening, we visit Cadini di Misurina, famous for its dramatic spires and panoramic viewpoints.

Total hiking for the day: ~3 hours ~8 km ~500 m elevation gain

Day 3

Day 3 - Classic Dolomites Landscapes - October 26, 2026

Our morning begins with sunrise at Lago di Limides, a short and gentle hike leading to a peaceful mountain lake with stunning reflections. After a rest and time to recharge, we head out for our final and most iconic location: Tre Cime di Lavaredo. This classic Dolomites hike offers endless photographic compositions of the region’s most famous peaks. Total hiking for the day: ~5 hours ~12 km ~620 m elevation gain

Day 4

Day 4 - Departure - October 27, 2026

After breakfast, we transfer back to Marco Polo Airport in Venice, marking the end of the Dolomites adventure.

Vincenzo Mazza

Vincenzo is a nature and landscape photographer. He has been doing landscape photography since 2010, mostly between Italy and Iceland. Born in Italy he moved to Iceland in 2015, after spending many months in that country during the years before to practice landscape photography.

He has been teaching photography and running photo tours since 2011, mostly in Iceland and in Italy. In 2015 he was among the winner photographers of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year international nature photography competition.

In Iceland he become a mountain and a glacier guide, and he is now an official member of the association of the Icelandic mountain guides.

Regarding his approach to photography, he like to consider himself a storyteller. He believes that his pictures are the result of diligence, creativity and technical skills in the field but most of all unconditional love for nature landscapes.

He would define his pictures as “authentic”, they are a faithful representation of the reality at the moment of the photo shooting, prior to all the obvious adjustments which are essential to the optimization of the picture.

Regarding that aspect, he said: “Nature is so impressive, inspiring and magnificent! if I created pictures with Photoshop, mixing up places and different moments I wouldn’t be the storyteller I want to be. Photography is an interpretation of an evanescent moment. Intuition and passion are needed on the playground of nature”.
