Description

Capture the amazing Kerlingarfjöll mountains and Hveravellir area in the Icelandic Highlands on this private photography tour! These regions are filled with hot springs, geothermal activities, and gorgeous landscape, perfect for those looking to fill their memory cards with beautiful photographs.

For the duration of this day tour, you'll be accompanied by one of our expert photography guides. They'll share their knowledge with you to ensure that you'll take home stunning images as you hone your photography skills in the breathtaking nature of Iceland.

On the morning of your tour, you and your group will be picked up from Reykjavík. From there, your guide will whisk you away into the remote and barren Icelandic Highlands. They'll show you the best techniques to capture the billowing smoke, bubbling mud pools, and all of the otherworldly colours that you'll find interspersed throughout the landscape.

Kerlingarfjöll is an impressive mountain range, reaching a height of roughly 1500 meters. Located in the central Highlands of Iceland, these mountains are volcanic and very colourful. They are composed of red rhyolite and tuff stone, standing in contrast to the dark, surrounding area.

There are three geothermal areas closeby to Kerlingarfjöll. The best-known of them is Hveradalir, a fascinating area where the geothermal activity has painted the ground in colours of red, green, and yellow. You will also find many hot springs here, including fumaroles and alkaline pools. The area of Kerlingarfjöll is a photogenic wonder, breathtaking in its beauty and diversity.

One of the highlights of the tour is Hveravellir, the largest geothermal region in Iceland. It is also one of the country's most beautiful. This fascinating site of hot springs, multicoloured sinters, boiling mud pools, smoking fumaroles and impressive lava formations is locaed in the lava field Kjalhraun, between two glaciers – Langjökull and Hofsjökull.

After a day of shooting, you will have the chance to unwind in a lovely hot pool within the Hveravellir area. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the amazing view that surrounds you. Of course, these hot pools are also a wonder to photograph.
